RoadWave is a location-based push-to-talk radio for drivers — like a CB radio, but for everyone, and only for the people near you right now. You hold a button, speak a short voice message, and drivers in your area hear it.
Getting started
- Allow Location and Microphone when asked — RoadWave needs location to find drivers near you and the mic to send voice messages.
- Tap “Tap here to enable sound” once so your device lets Road-Waves play.
- Wait a moment while it finds your zone.
Sending a Road-Wave
- Press and hold the button. A ring fills for one second, then it goes live.
- Speak your message after it goes live. Messages are capped at 15 seconds.
- Release to send. If you let go before the ring fills, nothing is sent.
- Only one person talks per zone at a time. If someone else is talking, you’ll see “Someone’s talking — wait…” before you speak.
Zones & highways
Your city area is a zone — everyone in it shares a channel. On a highway, RoadWave groups you by road and direction (for example, “I-25 North”), so you hear the drivers going your way, ahead of you.
Nearby Road-Waves
- ▶ Play — replay any recent Road-Wave.
- 📍 Map — see exactly where it was sent, on the map.
- 🚫 Mute — stop hearing a particular user on your device. Undo any time.
Explore map
Tap the map icon at the top to see Road-Waves around you — useful when parked or at a rest area to check what’s happening nearby before you head out.
Settings
- Alert sound — play a short tone before each incoming Road-Wave.
- Auto-play — play incoming Road-Waves automatically, or turn it off to play them yourself from the list.
