RoadWave is designed to collect as little as possible. There are no accounts — no name, email, or password.
What we collect
- Location. Your approximate location is used to place you in a zone and to find drivers near you. When you send a Road-Wave, its location is attached so nearby users know roughly where it came from.
- Voice messages. The short audio clips you record and send.
- An anonymous ID. A random identifier generated on your device so the Service can tell users apart. It is not linked to your real identity.
How we use it
Solely to operate the Service: to group you into a zone, deliver Road-Waves to nearby users, show distance and map pins, and prevent abuse (rate limits, one-speaker-at-a-time).
How long we keep it
- Voice messages auto-delete a few minutes after sending. They are meant to be temporary.
- Presence and zone information is kept only briefly in memory to run the Service and is not a long-term record of your movements.
What we share
- Your Road-Wave and its approximate location are shared with other users near you — that’s how the Service works.
- We do not sell your data or show ads.
- We do not broadcast your live, continuous location to other users; the map shows where Road-Waves were sent, not people’s live positions.
Third parties
Map imagery is provided by OpenStreetMap. See Copyright. The Service runs on hosting infrastructure that processes requests to operate the app.
Your choices
- You can mute any user on your device.
- You can revoke Location or Microphone permission in your device settings at any time (the app won’t work fully without them).
- You can stop using the Service at any time.
Children
RoadWave is intended for licensed drivers and passengers and is not directed to children.
